We had signed the agreement with WestBay Homes and we were ready to get going. What’s next? Oh yeah, selling our existing home. That shouldn’t be a big deal, right? I mean, we didn’t have much going on and could take our time, right? No. In the next few weeks, we had a business trip to South Florida, a family vacation, major surgery for our son and we were expecting the birth of our second son. Oh yeah, we needed to sell the house too!
Some time ago, we had met with Annie Rocks of The Rocks Team, part of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Florida Properties Group. It was clear she knew what she was doing, but was she ready to deal with us and everything we had gotten ourselves into? We were the only owners of this home and we had lived there for 15 years. We had put OUR touch on the house and it showed OUR personality. She was the first realtor we met that came in and told us the hard truth. We needed to make some changes. This was no longer our home, we needed to make it someone else’s home. She was right.
Annie and Kevin Rocks went to work right away. They laid out a very detailed and thoughtful plan of what we needed to do, how we needed to do it and an associated timeline to get it all done with. Annie didn’t just drop it off at our doorsteps, she rolled up her sleeves and got to work with us. Countless phone calls, text messages, and visits to the house, to make sure it was perfect. She wrangled vendors and contractors to makes sure her plan was executed with perfection and that no detail was missed. She was a machine.
An offer? Already? Jeff and I had a ton going on… 4 days after we got it on the market, Annie Rocks had a solid offer on the house. There were a few more to come but we were happy with the original offer and felt like we were selling to a couple that really wanted and needed our home. The stress was at an all-time high. Will it appraise? Will the home inspector find any issues? We had so much going on with Austin and the new baby coming that we really relied heavily on Annie to get us over the finish line. The appraisal? It came in exactly where she said it would. The home inspection? Clean as a whistle, because Annie asked us to have a pre-inspection completed and we had addressed any and all issues they identified. We were cleared to close.
Closing was quick and painless thanks to Annie Rocks. If you need an expert, someone who leverages her expert interior design skills and her mastery of the local real estate market, you need to reach out to Annie and Kevin Rocks of The Rocks Team.
